BIOS 2019 Annual Fellowship

Applications are invited for the British Indian Orthopaedic Society (BIOS) Senior and Junior Fellowship Programme for the Year 2019. BIOS as a part of its Educational Programme, has set up two weeks annual Fellowships, open to Orthopaedic Surgeons practicing in India.

Senior Travelling Fellowship (Open to Orthopaedic surgeons with more than 5 years’ experience after post-graduation) – 2 positions

Junior Travelling Fellowship (Open to Orthopaedic surgeons with less than 5 years’ experience after post-graduation) – 2 positions

 

The selection is based on academic achievements, professional standing and the overall contribution to Orthopaedics and Trauma of the candidate.

Last date of application is 31 st January 2019. The Education Secretary will send letter of invitation to successful candidates by 15th March 2019. Letter of visa support will be sent by Education secretary once the invitation has been accepted by the Fellow.

FELLOWSHIP BURSARY

Junior BIOS Fellows:  BIOS will pay £1,500 as Fellowship Bursary. BIOS will provide complimentary registration at the annual BIOS meeting.

Senior BIOS Fellows: BIOS will pay £1,500 as Fellowship Bursary. British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) will provide complimentary registration (President of BIOS to liaise) for annual BOA meeting.

All fellows have to arrange their own Accommodation and travel. All sundry expenses including visa fees and other arrangements will be borne by the fellows.

Bursary will be paid by bank transfer within 30 days of submission of the fellowship report to the educational secretary BIOS.

PRESENTATION DURING FELLOWSHIP

Junior Fellows are expected to submit their abstract for BIOS annual meeting. If their abstract is selected for presentation by the Education committee, they will get a chance to do a presentation. Selection of papers is by open merit only.

BIOS is unable to take any responsibility for Senior Fellows to do a presentation at the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) annual meeting.
